General Membership Meeting ~ Oct. 17-19, 2008
~ during the Stone Mountain Highland Games

The Ulster-Scots Society of America has set the 2008 Annual General Membership Meeting to coincide with the 36th Anniversary of the Stone Mountain Highland Games at the foot of Stone Mountain just northeast of Atlanta, Georgia this October 17-19, 2008! The U-SSA will have a Society tent during the games Saturday and Sundaythe 18th and 19th and sponsor a lecture from Northern Ireland author Billy Kennedy on his latest book, just published, “Three Men of Destiny: Andrew Jackson, Sam Houston, and David Crockett” Saturday, October 18 @6:45 p.m. in the Gwinnett Room of the Hilton Atlanta Northeast Hotel ~ 5993 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. Norcross, GA 30092 (770) 447-4747. During the lecture and optional reception following with buffet, we will be joined by George Patton and Maynard Hanna of the Ulster-Scots Agency from Belfast, Northern Ireland.

There is no charge for the lecture and reception. Bring yourself, friends, and other interested parties. RSVPs appreciated (see meeting letter attached below). This will be a great opportunity not only for U-SSA members and friends to have fun and fellowship, but also to educate the public about Ulster-Scots history and culture.
